I was in the same situation and they automatically filed a new claim for me. I went in and claimed the 2 weeks that I had and only received one of them. I then received the paper in the mail stating that I qualified for a new claim and a new "benefit year". I was not paid for the first week claimed out of the 2 weeks because it was a "waiting" week again.

Now I am just wondering how the extended benefits will work if I am not employed by the time that the new claim money is used (another 21 1/2 weeks were give to me). Do I get the remaining extension money I had left or all the extension over again or what. It would be nice if things were better explained on their website.

O, and I am in Florida, not sure if that is the state you are in.

File a new claim; You may be eligible for another 6+ months based on earnings in the previous 15-18 months.
