Federal extended unemployment benefits are set to continue through 2011.  Those workers who are covered under the unemployment extension legislation will be able to move to the next tier.  There are four tiers of benefits that range from 34 - 53 week covered by Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) and those collecting benefits under the Extended Benefits (EB) program (providing 13 - 20 weeks of additional benefits to those living in high unemployment states) will continue to receive benefits.  Unemployed workers who are collecting 26 weeks of state unemployment benefits will now be able to move into the federal unemployment benefits program once they have reached their maximum state benefits.  There is no tier 5 of unemployment for workers who have exhausted both state and federal unemployment benefits.

I am in the same boat. I have ran out of all my extensions and about to be living in my car. I apply for all kinds of jobs but most companies are on a hiring freeze. What are we to do? Edd's website says there is no Legislation in progress to help people like us out. What do we need to do to get the ball rolling?
