If your unemployment benefit year ends and you are still relying on these benefits, then all you need to do is to just file another claim. Once you do this you may find that your claim has been rejected. If you do, it is important that you don’t panic, just call up the right people and they should be able to get it sorted for you. You can get back on unemployment benefits, you just have to fill in all of the right paperwork.

When you file a claim for unemployment benefits, your benefit year will established on that date and will end exactly one year later. If you wish to file a new claim, log onto your state’s Labour and Workforce Development’s unemployment applications website and there should be a link somewhere called ‘Apply for Unemployment’. Once you click on this, it should take you to a criteria and privacy statement. Read through this and click ‘Continue’. Fill out the new application, making sure that all details are correct and submit it.

There should also be a number on the website which you can call to speak to in order to re-establish your benefits. Just tell them that your unemployment benefit year has ended and that you wish to re-apply. If you explain the whole situation to them and what you wish to do, then the representative should be able to tell you the whole process over the phone.

You will then need to head to your local employment agency to finalise the filing of your claim. If you are unsure where your local office is, there should be a list of addresses of all employment agencies within all states on the Labour and Workforce website. If you wish to continue to receive benefits after your year has ended, then you must file a new claim.

You just have to file a new claim.  If you are now collecting on the euc extension and have weeks remaining, just keep calling marvin on schedule and your checks will continue.  You will probably receive a notice that your new claim is denied but don't freak out (like I did).  If you have weeks remaining you will still get them.  It just a formality really just more paperwork.
