In the past, many people would send their state tax returns to the Georgia Department for Revenue. However, technology has now moved on. For businesses that like to monitor every cent they spend, online filing can be an excellent way to save on postage, and to ensure that all of your documentation is delivered quickly and securely. By sending your Georgia tax return through their secure online system, the only fees you will pay will be if you get assistance in compiling your financial records, or if you buy a software package to ensure that all of your records are nicely organized.

There are some instances where you won’t be able to file your returns electronically. For example, if you are trying to process a return for tax years prior to the current financial year, you will be unable to use the online service from the Georgia Department for Revenue.

Irrespective of your circumstances, it’s very likely that you will be able to file your return online. For example, if you only live in the state of Georgia for part of the year, there won’t be an issue in filing your return for this duration of time online like everybody else.

If you need to make corrections to your tax return, or if you have queries regarding its progress, do bear in mind that you will need to contact the state’s Department for Revenue on the telephone. The current number is 1-877-GADOR11. Once you have been directed to the relevant department, queries such as the status of your refund, or requests for incorrect information on a tax return to be amended can be directed here.

As a musician, I made about 5800 in another state and was issued a 1099 Misc. I filed Sch. C and Self Emp. Fed forms. After business expenses my Adjusted Gross Income is 4800. I owe no Fed Tax but I am responsible for SS and Medicaid tax. Do I have to file GA state tax form although my AGI is below the Standard $5000 Deduction? According to the Ga tax table I owe no tax or will not get a refund.
Thanks
