You should contact your local Georgia Department of Labor Career Center. If you're unsure of which office is nearest to you, you should call 1-866-873-5676. The Centers are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 4.30pm.

If you haven't claimed Unemployment Benefit but you've lost your job and are thinking of doing so then there are a number of things you need to go through in order to apply for them. You firstly need to decide if you are eligible for unemployment benefits. If you have lost your job because you have suddenly been laid off then you will probably qualify for unemployment insurance. You should also determine whether you have earned enough money in the base period to set up a claim. In addition, you will qualify if you are able to start work immediately and you are actively seeking work. When you fill out the claim you will need to have certain documents with you, including your social security card, a notice from your employer if you were provided with one, as well as proof of immigration if you're not a US citizen. You will also need the relevant names, addresses and dates of the places you worked at in the last 18 months as well as your bank details.

It is important that you apply for unemployment benefits as soon as you become out of work because claims filed in Georgia do not go into effect until the date they are filed and they won't be backdated to the last day you worked. You should receive a letter in 14 to 21 days after you file your claim stating whether you can receive unemployment benefits. If successful you'll begin receiving your payments at a minimum of $44 and maximum of $330.

Go to your "Certification Access" page.....click on "Inquiry" and fill out the form to REQUEST the SEB benefits (you have to apply for it).---though you don't have to call in to be "qualified".I read on another board, if you are able to fill the form out (without any errors)--that means you're eligible for the Benefits...HOWEVER, it takes "up to 28-days" to get you into the system---therefore BE SURE TO CONTINUE TO CERTIFY your Unemployment for each week---then, once you are provided SEB---they "back pay" you your benefits. Down at the Bottom of the Page is the Linkwww.dol.state.ga.us you don't trust my links..*GRIN*---just go to  dol.state.ga.us bottom left hand corner is a link forExtended Benefits - Claim Information
