Yes, if you do it within 30 days of filing, you have not received benefits, etc.  Go to the home page.  Scroll to the bottom and click on Contact EDD.  Under Online, click on Ask EDD.  Category: Unemployment, Sub-category: Other, Topic: Cancel a claim.  Click Continue.  Enter your information and click Continue.  They will give you a reference # and email or call to respond.

Yes, I am having the same problem. I cannot find anywhere on the online form where it clarifies "how" to cancel a claim. I realized after filing that I should file in July instead of June.

If you need to refile to change your base line - like I did - you have to go to "ask Edd" under file unemployment and it allows you to ask questions with a subject line you can highlight. Go to ask Edd > unemployment ins benefits>topic-claim filing stop benefit. It will then prompt you with dob/ss#/contact info/ and reason why. HOpe that helps...

What should we put for "reason why"?I filed in april (too early). I need to change my base period by filing in July.also, does canceling really work, or will it get lost in the system?
