No it is not a credit card but it is easy to see why people think it is.

Many people are under a misapprehension that the Net Trust Platinum Card is a credit card but it is not. It is not a credit card as we think of a credit card. You cannot take it and pay for your weekly shopping with it or use it in any other high street store.

The Net Trust Platinum Card, although it says Credit Card, is a type of store card. You certainly get a credit card account and can use it to purchase items, but only from their own online exclusive shopping website.

On the Net Trust Platinum website, nettrustplatinum.com  there is a pre-acceptance disclosure, the small print if you like which is on their main homepage and should most certainly be read before applying for this card.  It does state that "This product is not a Visa, Mastercard or Debit Card”  so it is clear that what you are getting is not a normal credit card and therefore will not be able to be used like one.

It then goes on to say that it "can be used by an account holder to shop exclusively at our online website”. Again, this outlines quite clearly what it can be used for and where it can be used.

It also, like many credit cards has an application fee and insurance fee etc and should you apply for this card money will be taken out of your account to pay to pay them so it is really important that the small print along with the terms and conditions are read and understood fully before applying for the card as it should be with any credit card or loan that you are applying for to fully ensure that you understand exactly what you are getting so that there are no unwelcome surprises when you find out that you haven’t got what you were expecting to get.

Did some research for you and I have seen other companies like this in the past come and go after taking advantage of people.

On their own website at https://netfirstplatinum.com/index2.php, under the "Pre-Acceptance Disclosure: It clearly states: " This agreement contains the terms and conditions of your Horizon Card Services membership known hereafter as Horizon Card Services and Horizon Benefits Plan. HORIZON CARD SERVICES™ IS NOT A CREDIT SERVICES ORGANIZATION, BANKING INSTITUTION OR INSURANCE COMPANY, NOR IS IT AFFILIATED WITH ANY CREDIT SERVICES ORGANIZATION, BANKING OR INSURANCE INSTITUTION. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT A VISA, MASTERCARD, OR DEBIT CARD. HORIZON CARD SERVICES ACCOUNT IS A LINE OF CREDIT THAT CAN BE USED BY AN ACCOUNT HOLDER TO SHOP EXCLUSIVELY AT OUR ONLINE SHOPPING WEBSITE.

Second, after googling, I checked the BBB website and oh boy!!! The company is rated "F" by the BBB. The company is owne by Horizon Card Services, PO Box 1275, Indiana, PA 15701. 4/22/2005

Principal: Robert Kane, President
Phone Number: (800) 251-6144

Hope this helps you decide whether or not to proceed.

No, I did some research on this card, and it says..."collect y our merchandise card now"...plus the fact that it has no visa or mastercard logo on the demo card  identifies its not a credit card that you can use anywhere, it appears you can only use it through some particular website for merchandise...there's a lot of these cards out there now, scams!!!!!

Right now I would like to also make people aware of a new scam to be very cautious of: Loan Modifications... Do not trust e-mails as well as be careful of commercials. They offer individuals with a way to redo their home mortgage. Be sure to find out what the fees are upfront - THEY CAN NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE CLOSING COSTS...THEY SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN $3000.00, and they take 60-90 days MINIMUM....Countrywide Bank has many lawsuits from various state attorney generals regarding the loan modification. I have been in the mortgage business for many years and am very concerned. If legitimate and you qualify it is a great way to lower interest rates and try to save your home. People be very careful. Many people did not know how the sub-prime market effected the economy. Since I work for a brokerage my account exec for Countrywide advised me one day when a loan looked iffy how to submit a loan and work around a glitch in their approval system to get the loan approved. I did not do it.
Most banks used the same automated system that had the same glitch. Learn to work around it and the loan would go through.
Also many appraisers getting caught up in the greed on R.E boom would ask o.k what appraised amount do you need? And they gave it - the banks accepted it and life went on.
Let me give you an example, that really did happen to me ( I was the renter) and why I got into the business.
Builder builds 20 houses (builder innocent party) - 6 are purchased by a loan officer and 1 broker at an office. It was great for the builder to have the houses purchased because it showed the builders lender that the houses are sell able. Their houses are built first. The loan officer and broker get their houses appraised $50,000.00 over the actual price. In the meantime buyers are buying houses from  traditional banks at that higher appraised price. About a year later the normal buyer (my neighbor) wanted to refinance to a lower interest rate. The new appraiser appraiser can not substantiate for the $50,000.00 they are cookie cutter houses and all should be valued the same. The ban sends out an appraiser and agrees that the houses were over priced, That person was stuck with this mortgage. Now the loan officer and Broker had did lease purchases on their homes within 3 months of getting families in the homes they refinance the houses through their own lender at the higher appraised price and took out all the equity as a cash out. This caused the people who were in the the lease to purchase unable to fulfill the agreed purchase price and they lost what they thought was going to be their house. I'm not sure what ever happened to the appraiser but the loan officer and broker were looking like innocent parties to this and got away with it.
These people got their money scammed the banks as well as innocent home owners who knew nothing. When I got into this business I started asking questions to the loan officer that I would never have thought of asking advised all my neighbors of the scam. No one could really prove it until the guy across the street went to refinance his house.
Just be careful out their, and you will know when you meet an honest person because they will tell you the good and the bad, they will not be pushy, or put fear in you, or make an offer be to good to be true.
I have been a loan officer for over 4 years and have been blessed enough to work for an honest office, I havent gotten rich.
My main goal and I always told people this - you are not buying a mini van this will probably be the largest investment in your life, ask me any question that maybe I didn't answer and when you lay your head down on your pillow I need you to be able to have peace that you have been fully educated and that you made a wise investment/decision.
This should be with all companies right now that promise I will give you this and this other hoopla.
Ask questions - if they get impatient or vague them move on.
Be careful and just know that their are still good companies out their looking out for the best interest of the consumer, when the consumer is happy and educated then things are better.
I know this is long winded but I too got the offer for this credit card, and was ready to sign up, but something on the inside said -Stop- who are they?
You all helped me and I wanted to help with want I knew.
thanked the writer.

I am a concerned citizen about this mortgage scam you are talking about. I would like to receive some info on the facts. I and my husband are born- again christians and we have been tricked a couple of times. We have just entered a lease agreement with some real christian folks, and we are thinking of purchasing this home. Can you send me this info, because my printer is out. And I would love to learn the business.

NO! If the offer sounds to good to be true, then trust me it is to good to be true. I have horrible credit and even with a stimulas package, no one would offer me unsecured credit, but out of the blue they offered it. They wanted my debit or credit card information before I could proceed to find out about the card. Now if you are receiving an unsecured card please know that the company does not need your debit or credit card information, all they would have to do is charge the line of credit that their giving you. This only happens with secured cards. If you proceed with this company you will result back to this information and kick your self in the behind.

I got postcard from nettrustplatinum also. FYI  it doesn't say credit card it states credit line. Which is different. I wouldn't get it because there is no physical location that you can go to and make purchases.

It is a true credit card. A line of credit is defined as to whom someone finances you a balance over a period of time and allows you to pay it back in small increments. Visa and MasterCard's are not credit cards they are company. People should make sure they read everything before handing over sensitive information. I don't feel bad for anyone who is willing to hand over anything to make a quick buck. There is nothing fraudulent about the company or card. If they put visa or mc logos on the postcards then it would be. But they don't. You people need to get some common sense and go over everything before selling your souls for a little more credit to your already shitty name

NO. It is merely a tool used my manipulative marketing agencies to fool people already hurting for money into contractually agreeing to accept a line of credit that can be only used over the Internet to buy worthless junk at exorbitant prices at selected websites. What's more, the "card" cannot be used for shipping or sometimes even taxes and "other fees." these must be paid with a major credit or debit card which is given at the time of purchase of this line of "credit." there is also monthly fees and activation fees that are paid by guess who?
In my opinion, these deceitful offers should be illegal and these companies should not be allowed to be in business, misleading people who are already struggling in this horrible economy

Thank you guys so so much, I am 20 years old and have really bad credit because I was immature and irresponsible when I had my credit cards and the last thing I need is another debt. I got a post card today, but looked like a scam so I decided to look them up and all I could find on their website was what I read on the post card. THEY ARE FAKE AND IT'S ALL A SCAM!

There's no visa or mc logo so common sense tells you that it's not a credit card that you can receive cash on or use just anywhere. It's just like a department store credit card except this card allows you to charge for merchandise online at a particular store (horizon outlet) I think. Do your homework before giving them or anyone your personal info. And you won't have a thing to worry about. People need to stop blaming their poor choices on others and take responsibility for themselves. Until that happens they and newcomers will continue to have bad credit and we'll all have to continue to pay the price for them!!!

Do not respond to that "credit card" offer!  It is a fraudulent company.  I entered false information so that I could get past the main page, in order to read the fine print and conditions of this "credit card."  It's not a credit card at all.  It's not affiliated with Visa, MasterCard, etc.  It only allows you to make purchases on their website, The Horizon Outlet.  When I tried to access the website, the page displayed a log-in area and little else.  It will only allow you to enter the site if you have log-in information that is provided once you hand over your money to them.  There are a lot of red flags, and I found this article regarding the company.  Check it out....

America is not evil and if you really believe that to be true, you should go live in a country that has a dictator running it instead of a truly elected person by the majority of the people or better yet live in a socialist country where the government is the one's scamming you! If you would take the time to educate yourself about credit cards you would see right away that it's not a credit card that gives money(no visa or mastercard logo) it's like any other department store card!
