Firstly you will have to access the H&R Block client login page and click to ‘Sign In’. You then need to fill in the spaces provided with your username and password. If you fill in the correct information, the website should link you to a page with a number of sections for you to choose from. Locate the section titles ‘Download/Print Previous Returns’ and then choose the return that you want to print by clicking on it. Once you have clicked, it should open up into a new window by your PDF reader. Once you have read through the return and are 100 per cent sure that this is the tax return you wish to print off then click ‘Print’ in the menu located on the PDF toolbar. Depending of course on the software you use, you should be able to save the file to your computer so you don’t have to constantly login to the H&R website.

There is also another option that is available to you in terms of receiving a copy of your tax return. This method concerns those that have prepared their taxes at an H&R office. What you need to do is locate the office, which you can do by using the H&R Block locator feature on their website. Once you have found the office then you just have to simply call them up and request a copy of the tax return that they can send to you.

H&R Block provide an easy service for filing and tax preparation as you can file your state or federal tax returns online from the comfort of your home. This therefore makes it easier for you to retain a copy of your return. As stated above, you can also use their services face to face via an office.

Go to your local H R Block District office location with proper ID and request the copy. The latest filing year is generally no cost. If you need prior year returns filed at HR Block, you can still retrieve these copies but will have to pay a nominal fee. If you moved to another city or state you can still go to the nearest open or district office and request a copy of the return regardless. If you are married filing joint and need a copy, it would help to know the spouses ss # and have your ID handy if you need a copy of the return. This is extremely important

H&R Block says it cannot provide a copy of your tax return unless you went to an H&R  tax office and filed it through that office or else used the H&R Block software online (i.e., uploading your documents to their website and not downloading the software to your PC or Mac).  They say they cannot (or will not) provide you with a copy of your return if you used their software at home and efiled your returns.  If someone knows a different way  for a home software user to get an electronic copy of what they filed, let us all know!
