Your State Disability Insurance Benefits are paid directly into a Bank of America bank account for you to use. As a result, there are a number of ways you can check how much money is in your State of California Disability account.
When you insert your Employment Development Department (EDD) Visa Debit card into an ATM and enter your PIN number, you will be presented with a number of options, one of which will be "balance inquiry", "check balance" or something similar. If you select this option, the ATM will show you how much money is left in your State of California Disability account. The ATM will also show you how much you are able to withdraw from the ATM machine at any one time.
The Bank of America advises that you always check the balance of your State of California Disability account on the ATM before making a withdrawal. By doing so, you will know whether or not you have enough money to make a withdrawal. You may be charged for withdrawing money from a non-Bank of America ATM, but will not be charged for withdrawing money from an official Bank of America ATM
If you call 1-866-692-9374, you will be able to access the customer service department call centre for the Bank of America. They will be able to provide you with information about how much money is left in your account. Please note that you will not be charged for calling this number.
You can also check your account balance by visiting www.bankofamerica.com/eddcard. Here, you will be able to sign in to your online Bank of America account and check your remaining account balance. Depending on the type of account you have, you may also be able to pay bills and set up a direct debit online.
