You had to be laid off. You can collect unemployment if you quit. If its military you had to be released on your time up or off medical or honorable discharges.

The eligibility is that you are totally or partially unemployed. Now if you haven't left the job because of your own mistake you can get unemployment. In your case, it seems that the job was not favorable for you. So you still can get unemployment. However, you must contact with your state unemployment office to get details. The decisions vary from case to case. To see some eligibility requirements for unemployment, visit this link.

If you have a job, and are laid off, collecting unemployment I'm sure, and you are working on the side for someone getting paid CASH, isn't this considered FRAUD, abusing the system, and then the person you are working for tells the state he isn't paying people to work for him.  Now come on, PEOPLE don't work for FREE anymore.  What's wrong with this picture, how can people get away with this?
