Are you sure it didn't say you are "approved to apply?" That doesn't mean you'll get one, but means you can apply for one so they can get all your personal information. I'm very skeptical of credit cards, and I would toss this in the trash. If you are desperate to get a credit card, they'll probably send you one, and you will spend the rest of your life paying it off because the interest rate will go from their friendly low point to about 30% in a very short time. If you want a card, go to a bank where you have a checking or savings account, and ask them to help you get one. They can usually issue you one with relatively low interest rates.

If you never applied for it, just ignore it. It is part of scams to get your ID information. Besides, 500.00 is nothing, just pay cash for items and it saves you from getting into debt.
