I did some research. The UI is for 26 weeks and then there are 4 extension with the federal government. Then after all extensions are up then you can apply for the state extension. So if he is able to draw all those weeks it is a total of 99 wks of unemployment benefits. I hope that this was able to help you. The only thing to keep in mind is that he needs to be eligible to receive all those wks. I am unemployed and it is very frustrating. Keep your head up.
How do we go about getting another extension when supposedly, my first extension expires 5/29/10 and I've been told IN hasn't allowed any further extension to occur? Perhaps I am completely done but my total # of weeks I've collected the end of the month would have been for 68 weeks, which I'm certainly not complaining, as it's been nice to receive something but just confusing when you hear so many different things-all coming from the same state.
I am confused also. I am in my first extension but really don't know how long it will last. It says I have X amount of money as a maximum benefit when doing the math it doesn't match the amount of weeks the govt say that we get.
It is confusing. My husbands place of employment shut down a year ago and he is still unemployed. He has collected for almost a year, one more week pay is all he gets unless something new pops up that we do not know about.
That is less than 52 weeks pay yet I hear that others get 59 now. I am confused.
