Well were can a person cash a treasury check if they only have a county ID and most banks say the ID is no good.
Will Any Bank Cash A Treasury Check?
Much to my surprise, I just found out that every bank has the right to REFUSE to cash any check. I went to Sovereign Bank as a non customer with my U.S. Treasury rebate check, they turned me away! I went home and actually called the U.S. Treasury and was told that NO bank has to honor their checks, go figure! On the bright side many banks will cash these checks with proper ID, but they are NOT required to.
