As of yet, congress has yet to agree on an extension of unemployment for 2014.
UPI.com reported that "1.3 million long-term unemployed people lost their benefits Dec. 28 and the number has been growing by 72,000 a week since."
To me, that kind of situation seems unsustainable, so I think it's only a matter of time until the government is forced to do something about it.
As usual though, the real issue isn't unemployment extension - but rather the government being unable to do anything constructive for the benefit of the people because of party politics and in-fighting.
