As of right now, the extension for unemployment in KS did not pass - it has been put on ice by Republicans that wanted to hinder Democrat progress on this issue.
The
Senate was tasked with deciding on a three-month extension of support
for people in the United States who are considered long-term unemployed.
It now seems unlikely that Congress will do anything to change the situation, and the whole thing looks pretty bad on President Obama (it was his idea to try and push this extension through, so many Republicans have voted against it to spite him).
Personally I'm kind of shocked that this has happened.
Some of the wealthiest men in the country denying the poorest in this country 47 extra weeks of support while they look for work.
What is your take on it?
