San Diego County has a higher-than-usual unemployment rate of 10.2 per cent from March 2011, and this is one per cent higher than the US average. If you are without a job, you may wish to find an employment agency that will be able to connect you with a brand-new source of work. With hundreds of different companies that are there to help the 159,000 people out of work in the region, determination and perseverance are both qualities that are needed if you want to get back into a sense of normality and routine.

Some Internet-based services provide you with the chance to read informative reviews about leading unemployment agencies in San Diego County. Most users will provide a comprehensive description about what their experience was like, and rate the assistance they received out of five stars. This can be the most effective way to find a useful unemployment office in San Diego, CA, as you benefit from reading first-hand stories of people who have been in your shoes.

Whereas some unemployment offices will only provide you with notifications about job vacancies, others offer more comprehensive forms of support for potential candidates. For example, there are agencies that provide information and training on how to give a strong job interview that allows you to stand head and shoulders over everybody else. If this wasn’t enough, they may offer assistance in compiling your curriculum vitae, allowing you to highlight your strongest skills and the relevant experience that prove the competency you have for the employment roles you are interested in.

There isn't an office anymore.  It's all at a call center.  I went to the building on Camino Del Rio S. And it was closed.  Also, went to Appeals office down the street and that's what they told me.

Look in your state pages in your phone book, and under unemployment, you will find the phone number and address. Hope this helps.

I would like to find an unemployment office that I can go to and speak with a representative about my benefits. I worked for FedEx as a package handler for 2 years. I started with 5-6 hours a day, but this year they cut my hours to 2-3 hours a day. On Oct.31, 2009 the company moved to Otay Mesa & I live in Del Cerro area. I asked my boss if when we moved if I could get more hours, but he said that at this time they would not be giving us anymore hours.  It was not cost effective for me to travel all the way down to Otay Mesa for only 2-3 hours a day. My last day was Oct.31, 2009. I applied for unemployment on last week of November. I was sent a letter saying that I did have benefits available at $175.00 per week & they sent me a $200.00. I sent it my form that was due by 12/27/09. Today I received a letter saying that I have a phone interview on 1/14/10 & that until then I would not receive any money. I don't understand why I was first given the benefits & 2 weeks later they are taking them away & given a phone interview. I realize that I need to have an interview, but why can't I keep receiving the benefits in the mean while?

They no longer have unemployment offices or if your state does they are few and far between. Call 800-638-3995, follow the prompts and when you reach a customer service rep. Tell them what city and state you need a number for that office.

I have filed for unemployment before, and suggest going to the website for the EDD rather than going to the office, if you are just filing a claim form. If you are looking for other assistance, they will also have all the office locations on the website. www.edd.ca.gov
