I had my telephone hearing April 9th, 2010 and felt like I won, hands down, before I even spoke.   I was told by the appeals division that it would take at least three months to get a decision because of the recession.   I called them again at the end of May to ask how much longer it would take.   I was told that they had just begun making decisions on hearings from February.   I got my decision June 3rd and was turned down again.   From what I was told over the phone, this makes no sense.   I believe they ran out of money and wrote mass decision letters turning everyone down.   There were huge discretions in the findings verses what was actually said in the telephone hearing.   I understand now why I was not allowed to tape the hearing.   I believe they are out of money to pay unemployment therefore are turning as many people down as possible.   I will be loosing my house soon and will have to give custody of my children to my ex if I don't find a job.   I think the federal government needs to step in.   The Alabama Department of Industrial Relations is a very dishonest organization.

I hope mine doesnt take that long! Alabama unemployment needs to hire all these people who are unemployed to make this process faster! They are the most imcompetent people working there. I pray I get mine...and soon. I broke my car driving so much looking for a job.

I had mine Oct. 21st and its  now Jan 7, so its been over two months and I called they said I will have a decision this month. This is wrong  when you waited this long.  They don't care. If you called the hearing and appeals you will get five different answers.

I had mine in the beginning of December as well, the Hearing and Appeals department said that they are so backed up.  In the middle of December, they were only working on appeals from October!  I called last week again and they said I wouldn't hear anything about my appeal until March!

I had my hearing Nov. 25, 2009, and as of now, Feb. 18th, I have not heard a thing. I called and got the end of Jan. 2010, as the date of when I would hear from them.  I felt I won the case but it has been nothing but BS on this waiting for a determination. They better send out cardboard boxes to us to live in if they are going to pull our chain like this. It definitely FAVORS the employer.

I won.  I read be honest and tell the truth and you will do fine.  I did just that and former reps for my former employer lied and the ref saw right through them.
