You can withdraw your 401 but there will be penalties. It should not affect your unemployment benefits. It doesn't matter how much money you have in the bank when you lose your job due to a job close down.

In Minnesota, any employer contributions to your 401K are considered deferred comp.   They consider that pay and it can extend the date when you qualify for unemployment benefits.

I have been Drawing unemployment for about 10 months . I have a 401k plan that I haven't done anything with so far. If I withdraw 10.000 dollar from my 401k now how will this affect my unemployment?
