I can partially answer your question. When I called TWC a few months ago about being able to volunteer while being unemployed and looking for employment, they said I am allowed to volunteer or go to school as long as it does not interfere with work searches and accepting a job....basically, I must be willing to quit volunteering or school (or those classes) to fulfill job requirements.
