Can A Texas Teacher Collect Unemployment?

You are unemployed for about 3 months yes.. Salaries are Prorated for 12 months.. You only really get paid for 10 months.

No  as a sub for 6 years in Texas I found this out the hard way. Because there is "reasonable assurance that you will begin working again when the break is over" you are not eligable to collect unemployment.  I also was told that the summer break is simly considered a regular school break like any holiday break and since at that end of that time I would most likely start working again there is no unemployment.In other words you are not considered unemployed  just  taking a break from working.

Yes they just have to go and apply for it
