You should first call your local social Security office and ask for the official website for information.  Read it carefully before deciding that you want to place your claim at age 62 instead of your full retirement age of 65.  Your monthly checks will be significantly less if you start collecting at age 62.  When you decide you want to place your claim, you can do so at the official website mentioned above.  After a few days, you will be contacted by telephone to verify your information.  Checks will follow in about a month.  The date that checks are mailed out are determined by the claimant's birthday.
