Can my father claim any benefits for caring for my Mother even if he works full-time?  She has been diagnosed  with a severe eye condition and is unfit to go any where on her own she also suffers with fibromyalgia so finds it hard to do every day things.  Please advice.

In UK the spouse can get Carers Allowance - but not if he is already drawing a pension or earning over a certain sum about £80 a week. He has to be looking after her for at least 35 hours a week. If the wife is completely disabled then he is entitled to respite care. Also check with your local council if she is registered disabled to get a rates rebate. Good luck - caring is a hard job - as I know from past experience and I wish you and your wife well.
