Advertising is necessary to all business in order to get their goods sold. Without letting consumers know about the products how are products going to get to the consumer? Advertising draws attention to the product or service, which can be performed through a number of mediums, such as television, radio, billboards, flyers, sandwich boards, web banners, adverts in newspapers and magazinesand on vehicles, be it company or public transport such as buses and trains. Anywhere where there are people advertising can be found. It is all part of the promotional strategy that helps sustain the business within the markets, which in turn lets business understand what the consumer wants and the sort of prices the consumer will be willing to pay for the product. Adverts keep the consumer up to date with new developments, for instance new variations of electric cars that are now becoming more environmentally acceptable to use. This is beneficial to governments that are trying to exact a change in behaviour towards the environment and carbon emissions.
The benefits of advertising produce customer loyalty that can bring a long-term competitive advantage; this will be most significant during times of a slow econiomic growth or recession. If business continues to advertise strongly during a recession rather than cutting the budget, this will bring confidence from consumers and continue the ‘brand loyalty’; this will keep the business going whilst others can fail. Advertising increases the sale of the product that benefits both the business and the consumer, with extra profits the business can afford to treat the consumer with more cost-effective products.
In the words of my past Marketing Instructor, "Advertising is communication". The way to get the communication is a commercial transaction that is called advertising. Advertising benefits those who find value in the ad, and it benefits the one who placed the ad, because the end result in the best case scenario is that the one who wants it, is given the opportunity to have it, when they would not have had the opportunity without advertising, and the one who has it and needs to distribute it, successfully finds those who want it. The best of advertising in its most positive form is a mutually successful endeavor.
Advertisement is a public announcement of a product or service. Advertisement announces the qualities of the product, hence helps the public in choosing the right product. A good advertisement can boost the product demand and income. Advertisement in other words not only benefit the company but if successful can also increase the benefits and salaries of the employees.
The greatest answer on the side of business was given by Ogilvy when he said, "Doing business without advertising is like waving in the dark. You might know what your doing, but nobody else does." Advertising is any paid form of communication that educates the consumer of a businesses products (goods, ideas, and or services). Advertising can have several purposes - primarily brand development and products features communication - but all under the auspices of establishing a relationship with the client, achieving TOMA (Top of Mind Awareness) and of generating sales. Why advertise? You wish to communicate with (1) the client potential (to generate new sales opportunities) and with (2) existing clients (to retain and establish additional sales and hopefully promote additional relationships through word of mouth of satisfied recipients). There is MUCH more that can be said, but maybe that is a summary worthy of the basics.
Try to imagine if our world is without advertising, it would be terrible. Advertising is a way to let you know what's happen out there even if you're staying at home watching TV, reading newspaper and so on. A creative work can always inspire someone's life, never ignore an ads, because every ads representing it message.
We need advertising because we want to promote our product so that the customer know our product.
