Too much of anything is not good. There must be a balance between extremes.
Yes, of course it is .. However, "too much" depends on your perspective. What seems absurd to a youngster may seem a necessity to an adult.
I guess there are parents out their whose controlling nature can be abusive .. Not protective or nurturing .. Some parents should never even be parents
A spoiled child will do crazy things because they can, a sheltered child will do the same things in an act of rebelion, the cause is different but the outcome is the same.
Moderation is the ideal. While we won't all agree on how to accomplish it, most of us manage to avoid extremes. (Sadly, there are exceptions, and children suffer the consequences.)
The pendulum swings equally far in both directions.
(Of course, that is assuming it has some source of power like the weights in a clock.)
