Why do some people buy things online with an ATM card when they are so easily hacked? If you use a credit card, at least you can dispute any charges and not lose any money. Bank cards and info can't be refunded.

I buy on eBay quite frequently and never had an issue. My debit card is tied to my PayPal account - so far I haven't had any problems. However, you probably jinxed my luck, Mr. C!  Thanks alot!!!

I took out a second credit card with a $500 limit and use that for my on-line purchases. If I get ripped off (and it has only happened once)  that keeps any losses within my reach.

But I try to use PayPal whenever possible.

A  secure loadable visa card is a great option. Just load it periodically with an amount to cover purchases. No other advance charges can be made of them because once the pre-loaded mount is used up....that's it. No worries that someone is going nuts with it on line.
