What is the difference between search engine marketing and Internet marketing?

Both are almost the same. But when I think of, a small difference I could realize.

Search Engine marketing may refer to tasks that are done to get listed (ranks) in search engines, when someone searches for related keywords. And Internet Marketing tasks are social media promotions which drives traffic to our business but they are not meant to help ranks in search engines.

Search engine marketing is making it possible for search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and Bing, to rank your website at least on the first page so that people who are looking for something would get it from you.

However, internet marketing involves advertising in different platforms in the internet such as social media and others strategically for targeted audience.
