I think it should be given to children...if they earn it...they have to learn that money doesn't grow on trees and isn't handed to them for doing nothing

In my opinion I think that if a child has been well behaved done chores or done something great at school, then they should be awarded with pocket money[however, depending on how young the child is, if the child is lets say 3 maybe pocket money would be useless to them, you could take the child out to a soft play area or something to award them]
I have two children, one of them is 4 and the other is 12 my 4 year old I still give a little pocket money too in his university fund, and take him places to award him, but my 12 year old gets $50, every two weeks, but she has to do chores. Children should always be praised!
Thats just my opinion

I believe a child should earn an allowance, this is the first step in teaching them responsibility and what the real world is all about

Pocket money is good for kids at an early age to learn the value of money and if you do give it to them you should let them spend there money on what they want for the first couple and after that you can tell whether they are natural at handling money and what you can teach them to be wiser when it comes to making decisions when it comes to money!!

Yes children sould get pocket money as there is nothing bad in it and there pocket money should be so much to overspend and not learn the value of money this knowledge that you give them at this age will help them when they grow up you can give weekly pocketmoney or monthly but not yearly so that youre child doest end up spending it all short duration so friends there is no harm in giving youre child pocket money

In my opinion pocket money should be given but limited. The parents must know where their ward is spending his/her pocket money. It gives children a responsibility and also teaches them the value of money. It should not be given at an early age.

I definitely think they should..I mean there are so many things that children desire..LOL and if they really want it they should earn it. You can pay half price and let your child pay the rest if you like. Giving a child pocket money helps it to look after what it earns. They can get very well prepared for the future and they will be able to survive in recessions by handling money.

I believe yes, they can. But not to spend their own. They could save the money in a piggy bank for the next year school/birthday expenses and learn how to be responsible with money and all.

In this day and age where the consumer society has offered us everything on a plate without giving us the need to earn the holiday, car, clothes etc.
It is important and timely that children start learning the true value of money.
My son is 4 years old by the age of 6 or 7 he can start earning pocket money by being well behaved considerate and doing chores around the house and only then will he have earn the right to pocket money. So yes children should be given pocket money but they mustn't get complacent and expect it for nothing.
