Hi,

I work for DWP and yes if you have left work due to work related stress, you can claim employment and support allowance if you have a health condition which affects you from going back to work. However this is only a short term measure, you are required to look for alternative work that does not affect your health. In your case, a job that is not going to be to stressful.

Thanks

Well if you are already on job and you have some job leave due to any reason then you are not eligible for taking any kind of unemployment benefits. However you can find the unemployment benefits in case you have no job only.

Hi Saties,

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time at your job. Is there someone at work you can talk to, who can help you address some of the problems you're experiencing? Or perhaps you can find a different job (though I know that can be hard) where the work environment is better. I believe unemployment is only available to people who have been "laid off," not those who have been fired or have voluntarily left their jobs. Many of us have experienced job stress... It does get better eventually so hang in there!
