I think so.....
Let me guess. You got a letter from someone with your last name who claims to be a distant relative and wants to offer you some priceless family secrets for only $35.00. I got the same letter except it wasnt from Robert Evans it was from Robert Ali! Well my last name is Ali... What a coincidence! Except that Ali is a pakistani name and I have never heard of a pakistani having the first name Robert. Also he asked in the letter if I was of the Georgia Ali's, and if I was from Martha's blood line. Martha Ali... Give me a break! I'm sure he must have asked you the same thing but with your last name Evans! I think it is a fairly new scam though because I couldn't find any complaints when I googled it. But hopefully people will see this answer and right thier own experience so that everyone comes to know about it. I hope this helps, and I hope you didnt send your money to Mr Evans/Ali/con-artist!
thanked the writer.

I also received a 6 page letter, only the last name changed to my name "Malone", also asking if I was from the the blood line "Martha", his name claiming to be Robert T. Malone. I marrid a Malone, who passed twelve years ago. Myselfl, I am German. [No Martha's bloodline] Well, the writing was almost convincing. But the hooks and the clause came through somewhere in the lines. I can see that some people could go for it. There are just too many scrupules scam artist out there. I don't trust him.

My last name is Deuel. It's not really common. But Robert's last name just happens to be Deuel as well, and he's looking for Martha's line in Georgia. Well, what do you know! How unusual! I don't think I need his $35 secrets either!

I also got a letter today; same thing with my last name. All scams come from Phoenix. I get several a week, e-mail and also snail (U.S. Postoffice) mail. Seems like all scams now want $35. I would like to get a real legitimate offer to make money. I am 83 now and trying to find another HONEST person.

This is correct, I also received the similar letter, just changing to my last name, a Chinese name but also using the name Martha. So obviously, this is indeed a scam. Something that we should watch out for. I am constantly checking many of these mail scams, and almost invariably they are some type of scam. So I would avoid this.

Hello, My last name came up on the Robert T. List. I have and will not send any money especially relatives who I do not know. I have also been getting letters from Los Angeles California. All the letters I get have a USA Three stars with red and white lines. Beware of strange letters of people you do not know. How does the person use a coat of arms with two lions, shield, two flags and an elephant on top and says they know me?

I believe it is a scam yes! I received his "letter" except Roberts last name was changed to Eno-coincidentally my last name! Asking if I was of the michigan Enos and of Martha's line, well duh I am a Michigan Eno as that's where he mailed the letter to, never heard of a Martha Eno(and I know my lineage fairly well) or the mysterious " Eno Letters" I think ill save my 35.00, and advise the same to any other recipients of the Avant Garde blah blah blah

I got the same thing from a Robert T. Babor - also got a similar advert for a 12 letter "course" for financial freedom - as far as I know I don't have any relatives in Phoenix AZ ( I could be mistaken) - so - for now I'm going to go with there's a very good chance this is a scam - I have better things to spend $35 on - like bills - gas- food - anything  TTFN

I received this same letter from a Robert T. Mauk that took on a surrogate son that's dumb and can't make more than $200,000 from the 12 letters. But hey, he bought him a  BMW out of his wealth and didn't feel right about just giving millions to the boy. So, he doesn't want anymore poor Mauks in his family tree.

Yes my last name is Cannon This is a scam!!! By the way so is the Zaken Corp in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Big rip off scam. Several years  back they scamed me out of 918.00 Dollars. Seems like it to me. I got the same letter only from Robert Uselton, also asking about Martha. Seems like I am getting a lot of junk (scam) letters from p.o.boxes in Phoenix AZ lately. Watch out for them. They are certainly questionable...Don't fall for them.
