The 1099 series tax form reports the tax returns for individual contractors which does not include any deductibles in the form of social security payments, medical insurance payments and many others. It notes down the income of those freelancers who work on their own and they are required to fill out the total income they earned from a particular business in a whole year. This form is then used by IRS to keep records of tax returns.
There is a certain requirement for filling out the form that is those contractors or freelancers, who have received an income of less than $600 from a particular business in a year, do not need to fill out the 1099 series tax form. The IRS does not require reporting of such people for tax return information.
The business providing the income to the contractor will also be liable to fill out the exact income that was paid and so will the contractor be bound to fill out the same amount as the IRS will compare their amounts. Certain 1099 series tax forms will include amounts which will not be taxable to the business providing the income to the contractor, such as transactions with real estate.
In all cases, both the parties are required to fill out each detail accurately for reporting tax payments and returns for the IRS.
