Paper rounds are mostly worked by school children, as the hours are early and the job is simple. This means that the pay for paper rounds can be pretty low - per hour you are probably only going to earn maybe £2.00. In general though, you will be paid a lump sum depending on the size of the round, this can be anywhere between £4 and £20.The amount you get paid varies massively on the size of your paper round and the different newspapers you deliver. Traditionally the Sunday newspapers pay the least.

The speed at which you can do the paper round alters the profitability of the round, many children use a bicycle so that they can reach as many houses in a short space of time. This technique has limitations as you can carry far fewer newspapers on a bicycle and if you have to deliver to many houses which are close together, you may find you do not use the bicycle often.

The geography of the area also has a big impact on a paper round, the ideal route is on a street with houses close together, hills make a paper round much more tiring and houses which are spread out with long drives can increase the distance travelled greatly.

There are many advantages to having a paper round, it gives you extra money to spend on anything you like. A paper round usually takes place in the morning before school, meaning that it doesn’t interfere with your social life too much. Most importantly however, it gets children used to working and a work effort and may help you getting your first full-time job.

There isn't a fixed price!! There are many different newsagents willing to pay what they wish, so the prices varies a lot!! My friend earns around £20 a week, but then again my sister earns about £40 a week and during Christmas time it can get up to £70!!!!! With people giving her tips and her having extra leaflets to sort out. The money quickly rises!

It can also depend whereabouts you live in the country. If you live in the South East, then you are likely to earn more than in the Midlands or the North of England.

so it will get you some wear in life if you save it and don't send it all  on crap and you will be abel to get what you want / clothes , badges and anything El's ." QUOTED

''you got £20.50 a week so £20.50 X 4 = £82 . So £82 a moth so £20.50 X 360 = £7380 . So £7380 a year

you said 20.50 a week, but then you multiplied that by 360, and said that was a year? Wrong, theres 365 days in a year, and you said that was the price per week, so you would multiply 20.50 by 52 which is £1066 pounds a year

This means that the pay for paper rounds can be pretty low - per hour you are probably only going to earn maybe £2.00 or less. If you are lucky the newsagent may pay you for doing the whole lot, however long it takes, which might be around £8.00. Of course the rate will vary so it's best to ask before you take the job on.

If you got 20.50 a week times that by 52 and you get £1056 not 7k a year!!!

Sorry but you have done this totally wrong 20.50 x 4 = 82.00 yes, but 20.50 x 360 =7380.00, whereas it should be 20.50 x 52 = 1066.00 acctually so basically you can't do maths.

So, i pretty much agree with Chaza2597, because there's 52 weeks in a year not 360

Well it all depends on what you do for example I do 2 rounds in the evening every day including sunday and I get £67.50 but I could also do 1 round in morning which would get me £88 a week but you could also just do 1 round every evening which for me is £22 or you could do 1 round every evening and 1 round ever morning which is £44 so obiously it depends where you live but where I am this is what I get so it is up to you but it all pays off XD
