I am a single mother of 2 and I receive SSi for my 5 year old son which is 629 a month. I also receive food stamps. I don't have any other income. The maximum is 674 but it depends on your income.
It also depends on the situation that qualified you as well as your past employment, if any.

In the year 2010 in california you get $845 per month on SSI.
$725 per month for SSI Supplemental Security only.
If you are talking about Social Security , it depends on your work history. It could be 1200 and up or if
you were disabled earlier in your work life it can be as low as $500. However, SSI will be added to the
Social Security benefit along with Medicaid and Medicare.. Plus food stamps. This increases your living
standard.
