There is a diverse range of reasons why someone might employ an accountant. I employed an accountant in Brighton to help with the bookkeeping for my new business, but it really depends on the kind of service you need.

If you are a business owner with a lot of ambition, but you're not well versed in the financial side of things, help from an accountant can mean the difference between success and failure. For me, this was the driving factor in my decision to employ a qualified account.

For others, the reason may be completely different. Some people will need help with filing their taxes or keeping on top of their company’s payroll, whereas other people may need more specialist advice on matters like formulating growth strategies for their business or managing their own tracking and accounting. Many businesses employ accountants to keep good financial
statements, which are required for decision-making. For example, if a company
needs to take a loan, it has to show these records to the lenders. The
bookkeepers should be able to create effective budgets, so that the firm’s
expenditures are less than its income.
