In Australia the prize goes to an electrical retailer called Harvey Norman. I returned a defective product and the kid assumed, because i was old, I didn't know much about technology. He finally agreed to the exchange, gave me a new one, then said, "Do you need the box?" Then he placed the defective unit in the new box and put it on display to sell to the next sucker. That was in 1993 and I haven't been back.

But one of the all time successful protests was from Canadian singer, Dave Carrol, whose guitar was damaged by United Airlines. After months trying to get them to meet the repair costs he wrote a song about it, and it went viral. United's shares dropped, they paid him compensation, and Taylor Guitars gave him a new guitar for all the good publicity they received.

Check out the video. It's worth it:

In the UK, Carphone Warehouse (or any of their associated companies). They lied to avoid replacing my son's phone (If you are reading this CW, come and sue me!) Their engineer admitted that he would rather lie about the state of my son's phone than upset "the company". They have THE most appalling reputation in the UK (just type their name into a search engine to see how bad they are).

Hateful company, bad customer support.

Two further observations.

My son was 15 and it was his first "proper 'phone. He deserved better treatment - CW lost a customer for life (and most of his friends).

They are active supporters of the UK conservative party. Their bad treatment of their own customers is reflected in their treatment of all of the rest of us.

STOP PRESS: My son-in-law's phone (a SG5) has fallen in half - a known manfacturing fault, apparently. Carphone warehouse will not help because the fault  was reported after 32 days - they only support the products they sell for 30 days.

First Union Bank, which has merged with so many others and changed there name I guess the point is moot. They bought out two banks I had been using. Prior to their involvement my accounts were perfect, but every time they bought my bank checks bounced and they couldn't explain why. I actually told someone who worked there I believe they had that name so the would have the initials F.U. Because that is what they were doing to their customers.

Walmart. Should be called Chinamart. Do not support China and their products. Try to buy things made in the U.S.  You get what you pay for.

Some dirtbag ran over my foot with his cart and just went right on like nothing happened. One of the only times I was glad my ex wife was with me to keep me from nailing that guy. Haven't been back since.

Hollister, Jack Wills, Superdry, any of those "designer" shops. Awful items, bad quality, way overpriced, the sizes are always too small because they only want attractive people to wear their products and I think its awful what they're doing and what they stand for.

When I played airsoft for a hobby, there was a company in California named Airsplat. I ordered my weapon from them and discovered, upon delivery, that the barrel was tilted to the right, causing the weapon to be horribly inaccurate. After many many calls, I finally got an exhange for a new weapon. Upon delivery, I discovered that the new weapons body (different gun, different brand) was cracked and falling apart. The second is Coastal Federal Credit Union. Every aspect of my business with them was flawed. They never answered their phones or returned voicemails and every month had an added problem. NEVER bank with them. Best of luck my friend.
