From wikipedia :

  1. Nike (/ˈnaɪki/; Greek: Νίκη, "Victory", pronounced [nǐːkɛː]), in ancient Greek religion, was a goddess who personified victory, also known as the Winged Goddess of Victory. The Roman equivalent was Victoria.

Nike is Greek for victory, and the 'just do it' attitude is something held by most sporty people, and Nike is a sportswear store.

@Taylor:
I wasn't trying to be rude, I was just being honest. I thought it was a rant by the use of your vocabulary. My friend wanted someone else to back her up so she wasn't as hurt. I also told you it was a slogan because you seemed confused on Tris's comment ''btw that's not a quote''.

@Autumn:
I wasn't trying to be rude to her, as I said I was just sticking up who was offended.

@Taylor and @Autumn:
I am sorry if the comment was rude.

Sorry, guys, I didn't mean to make such a big deal about it and was simply showing alex this because we're both big in the Percy Jackson fandom.

@Taylor and @Autumn, I hope I didn't hurt either of you and I'm truly sorry if I did.

I also hope that we can all put this behind us and move on.

The "Just Do It" Slogan slogan was created in 1988 at an advertising agency meeting.

The agency was called Wieden+Kennedy, and you might be interested to know that they apparently credit the most memorable advertising phrase in history to the last words of Gary Gilmore, a deathrow inmate who was executed in 1977.

His last words were  apparently "Let's do it."
