If I file for underemployment and get laid off at a later date can I still sign on for full unemployment benefits?

From what I believe, you have to work at least 3 months before you can file again. If you get fired, it's up to the person who fired you to tell unemployment whether or not you can receive it. It happened to my ex. He was on unemployment for a year, got a job, worked exactly 3 months, then stopped showing up to work so he could get fired and collect again, but bc he tried to get fired, he wasn't eligible.
