This is something that is very easy to understand, the continuous cycle is going to work all of the time, there are not going to be any breaks for the production. The intermittent cycle is going to have certain breaks which are going to benefit that production to ensure that there are not going to be any problems.

Continuous
· Works all day and night

You will find that the companies and productions which have a continuous cycle are going to work around the clock. There are going to be different members of the team which are going to clock on in the early hours of the morning and the late hours of the night.

· As many products as possible

You will find that the reasoning for this may be to ensure that as many products as possible can be produced and that the company is never going to be losing money because they have stopped the assembly cycle.

Intermittent
· Breaks to study the product

There are going to be many breaks to study the products which are being made to ensure that there are not going to be any problems and that the production line can continue to work.

· Low demand of stock

If a company is not in high demand then they are not going to have to have a continuous system. There is not going to be the demand for the products and therefore the intermittent system can be used successfully.

It is easy to see the differences between the two systems. They are not difficult to understand and you can see the varying amount of products which are made as a result of the two systems and what they have to offer to the companies that are going to be using them on a daily basis.
