The best managers are those in tune to their subordinates feelings. A happy employee is a far more productive employee. That's not to say managers should kiss their underlings feet, but they should do what they can to make the work environment as pleasant for employees as they can within reason. Happy employees aren't just more productive but they also better interact with customers insuring repeat business ;)

Emotion must be kept in check  so that it does not seem to extreme for social acceptance in work and behavior situations.You just have to keep your behavior within accepted limits so that no one thinks you are too weird as this could affect your work. Like crying in front of others or being extremely loud and boisterous for example
