It sure is! I was one of the suckers who fell for the "read this or die poor" letter promising to fill out paperwork for senior citizens. I sent the check for $35 and didn't get anything! I looked my check up on my bank statement and found a phone # on the back, but when I called I got an automated response telling me that the person I was looking for was not available.
