Bank Pre-Authorzation can take 7-10 Business days (Excludes Weekends and Holidays) The average time for a Pre-Authorization to cancel in 3-4 Business Days.

I found this information our by calling my bank and asking a while ago when I Was away on business. It may have changed since then.

I do not know about all banks, but mine takes three business days. The charging hotel can, however notify the bank and have the funds released immediately.
