The truth is people have different opinions on what 'being rich' means.

There are some people who think that having a 'rich' family life or love life is the most valuable thing someone could possess. These people are generally known as 'the poor'.

Here's a quick guide to figuring out whether you are more 'Ritchie Rich' or just 'Modestly-wealthy Morris'.

How to tell if you're rich As far as being rich goes, the goalposts aren't very clear.

One survey suggests that most people are consider anyone who makes twice as much money as they do to be rich. So, for someone who is making $100k, being rich would entail making $200k.

If you ask the taxman, rich people are those of us who have more than $1 million, although according to the US Federal Reserve, you are in the top 5% of Americans if you are worth over $1.4 million.

Am I rich or not?

If you're dying to know whether you are actually considered rich or not, then the chances are you are probably rich.

But if that isn't evidence enough for you, why not try asking yourself the following questions:

  • Do you have a butler/private nurse/pool boy/door attendant?
  • Do you eat Foie Gras?
  • Do you host charity fund-raising soirées for 'saving Africa'?
  • Do you often frequent auction houses?
  • Have you had more then one nose job?
  • Does your house have a gated driveway?
  • Do you commonly use your middle initial when presenting yourself?
  • Do you have multiple Swiss bank accounts?
  • Do you own a pair of driving gloves?
  • Do you regularly wear white trousers or a sweatshirt draped over your shoulders?

I'm rich so I'm going to tell you a thing or two.

First of all, I am Angelo Gomez the richiest kid in my school, so I'm rich because I get everything I want and my parents don't fight about what I want - they just give it to me like that.

One day my xbox 360 broke and I told me dad to get me a new one.
So I guess later that night my dad bought me a brand new xbox 360 at 12 o'clock at night.

He bought one for me and my brother that same day. So yeah, that's my story and you know you're rich when you buy really expensive clothes for like 50 dollars each.

Also that I get everything you have because I'm a rich person. I don't share my money because the FIRST rule of being rich is that we don't have to share any money to the other not-rich people.

So if you're rich like me give a call so we could talk stocks and money and laugh at other people.

Then I should buy as many clothes and give them to free to my school.

You know you're rich when you actually consider buying a 1920's antique soap baby that's $200 simply because people's faces will be hilarious when you bring it out in public and tell people what it is. That's how you know, my dear friend.

I was born during the Great Depression and there was very little money around our place. But we did have enough to pay the rent, buy clothes, and put food on the table, so we did better than most.

As a child I wanted to be rich when I "grew up" so that I could own my own home and a car.

Well, I'm sitting in my own home and our Toyota is sitting in the drive, so by my own definition I am rich.

You know you are rich when you do not have to bother asking the price of anything - if you want it you get it.
