Going in for an interview at BPO is not different than going for an interview at company. The most important thing is to be yourself and try not to panic. You will obviously be nervous, but don't let it take over you. If you have been told that the interviewer will ask you questions, they may have told you what these are beforehand but if they haven't, then just relax and answer truthfully. Don't lie because sometimes the best thing is to just say "I'm sorry, I don't know the answer, but I would appreciate the opportunity to learn more."
Below are some steps on how to give a good interview.
• As mentioned before, the most important step is to be yourself. Try to relax and not be stiff as this can give off a bad impression. Let your personality come out as you can still add a little bit of humor (coupled will professionalism of course) can go a long way.
• Think beforehand about what you would like to talk about in the interview. Ask someone ahead of time what your interviewers want to know and make a list of key points that you want to say.
• Practice speaking slowly in front of a mirror or close friends and family. When people get nervous, their heart pounds, their hands shake and they tend to speak very fast. Practice breathing normally and try to slow down what you are saying.
• Before you go for the interview, conduct as much research as possible at the job, what is involved, your interviewers (if you know them) and the company. It always looks good if you know as much as possible about your prospective job.
• Show up to the interview on time, or early which is even better. Be confident and smile when you arrive.
• Dress in appropriate professional attire. This is especially important if you are trying out for a television job, but you should always try to look good anyway. Your clothes should be comfortable and modest, as the interviewer will not want to see too much skin or you constantly fidgeting.
