I've never heard of this working (going to your nearest office...). In California, there is no longer any unemployment offices the public can go to. All over the phone and online now. The EDD needs to receive the appeal hearing before they issue you a payment/s. You will get your copy before EDD gets theirs. … Read more

I'm not sure I understand your exact situation. But no matter, if you want to appeal EDD decision, you have to send in the appeal form or write them a letter saying you want to appeal. You can google how to do this and what is required. You only have 20 days from the time … Read more

EDD will start sending you checks in the mail, eventually. Might take up to 30 days so I hear. Possibly within 10 days. EDD needs to get the appeal decision from the appeals department first before anything. You will get your copy of the decision in the mail before EDD does.

I don't know what the statistics are....but I just won mine. My prev employer claimed misconduct and gave the judge in the appeal hearing all kinds of false documentations and fake write-ups.
