Zack, this is an interesting Q, but I think we might agree that being short on money is the source of greater resourcefulness out of sheer necessity. You don't have to think too hard when you can just stroke a check.
Think about all those 1950's cars in Cuba. These folks had NO resources, no parts, nothing, only their creativity, yet they still manage to tool about in those same rides today.
