First I wish you a speedy recovery here as I had my wrist fused straight when the DRs were first discovering about Carpal Tunnel in the 80s and mine was way beyond DRs ever seen for this. Anyway unless you have personally taken out a short term disability insurance policy , there will be little you can do here. As for Social Security Disability you either have had to be off work for a year or DRs to say that you wont be able to return to work for more than a year because of this so unfortunately, it sounds like youre out of luck here unless you have some accrued vacation time you can use here. Good luck

I know there is a certain amount of time, you have to be disabled, before you can collect Social Security Disability. Look it up on their site, to see if you will be disabled for a long enough period or not.

I think you might have to be disabled for either 2 weeks or 2 months. I'm just guessing these times, but I do think it is 2 weeks.
