The impacts on the environment by poor and rich countries alike are very prolific.
Factors you will need to look at in terms of pollution are industry, the amount of cars and vehicles there are on the road there and household impact such as how much waste the average family produces.
In terms of industry, richer countries have the technology to work by producing less fumes in a cleaner atmosphere. But the volume of industry will be more here, and so this means that the impact they have on the environment is not necessarily lessened by this technology. In poorer countries, the environmental impact can be slightly worse because the equipment is older, and produces a lot of fumes, meaning that the air is less healthy for the people that live there.
In terms of vehicles, the rich country will have more on the road because its people can afford more luxuries, and that means more pollution is caused here by vehicles than in less developed countries. But, the poorer country have older vehicles which emit more harmful gases. Also, the poorer country is probably more densely packed, meaning worse environmental impact in a smaller area.
In terms of waste produced by the average family, electricity readily available in the richer country means that more is wasted, using more coal and doing more damage to the environment. Also in terms of waste, the richer country with more money per citizen will produce more waste that ends up in landfill, though more and more today we are recycling more of our waste. The poorer country will have nowhere near the richer country’s impact in terms of electrical usage, but will produce some landfill waste.
Overall, the poor country will have a higher polluting impact, but the rich will have a higher impact on the world’s resources.
