Plans, yes, they're in my garage collecting dust.   Hell, I have the whole car I'd sell with the plans.  You could hit the road after just the small expense of reworking the brakes and getting it to run.    I put the car in storage 20 years ago and forgot about it.   I recently had to dig it out and would like to sell it.
The plans, car and all the excitement that goes with it could be your's for a Meer $4800.   When I had the car on the road people would actually follow me home and stop to inquire about it.  When I took it out of storage and was loading it on a car trailer four vehicles stopped and the people got out and took photos with their phone cameras while asking multiple questions.

Wow! That's a good price. I don't have it. But still a good price. What motorcycle did you use?

I built the car using a Suzuki 1100, shaft drive. It performs well, in fact almost to well. It is scary powerful. The only reason it went into storage is the state came out with a motorcycle helmet law and there's not room in the cabin for my head with a helmet on it. I'm only 5'10" tall but still is quite tight.

I  Bought the Plan's , in 1986 , for , $ 19.95 , it came with 10 Blueprint Sheet's , and a  Book , I Called them on the 1-800  Phone Number ,  Either ' Mechanix Illustrated ' ,  or  ' Urba - Sport ' , and  it was  Probably  ' Urba - Sport ' , I asked them if  they were Selling the Plan's for a  " Reverse "  Gear , They Laughed and Said ,  if  you  have  Brain's to  Park Carefully , or  A Strong Broomstick  Handle + Arm , Preferably the First thing , you shouldnt have Too much of a problem , but Said , You Need a Place to Do the Work ,  [  my Parent's Threw - my  ' UrbaSport Tri-Magnum ' ,  Plans  in the Garbage  ] , and when you are Building it , Remember , you Have to Pay a Tow Truck , or Semi - Truck Hauling  Service , Money to have it ' Thoroughly " Safety "  Inspected ' , Before you Can Drive it ,  he Said , Trying on your own to Discover , Figure - Out , and  Generally , have a Little " Self Taught Knowledge " , Not even before Hand , He Said , if you Look at Those Plan's , and Teach Yourself , Thats the thing , He said its Not that Easy or Hard to do , either way , I'm Not that Guy , but the Plan's and Book were Fun , I would consider the  $ 95 , Or ,  Research , Any Link you can Find , There are Book's at Library's with Link's , in Them , for Example , I Like to Buy things on the ' Internet ' , with What I Would Re - Name , Myself , a ' Web Card ' , Any Bank you belong to , Sell's a One Time Use Card = called a ' Bank Gift Card ' , its Hidden , And Not Re - Fillable , with Any Money , if its Money Was Stolen , its only that Card + Amount .

Andre building it cost me close to $5,000 you might want to consider that if $95 for the plans poses a problem. Just a thought but they do come up on Ebay from time to time for less than the current price. There are also two versions of the plans the original MI version had a different and much smaller book than the current set.

What you get in the set are 13 plan sheets and the book 78 pages . Hopefully you can get a set and build one it's a fun project.

The UrbaSport and Tri-Magnum were two completely different vehicles.  The Mechanix Illustrated UrbaSport was 1 wheel in front and 2 in the back, Popular Mechanic's Tri-Magnum was the other way around.  I couldn't find a single picture of the UrbaSport but many Tri-Magnums were built, do a search.

$95 is not much expensive but if you don't want to pay lump sum amount, where is your credit card. Use your credit card and pay in small installments.

Normally I would agree with you. But ever since I unburied myself for my credit card fiasco, I have sworn off indebting myself to anyone for any reason. On the other hand, you are absolutely right, $95 + s&h is not that expensive. It is just that 25 years ago, the set of plans sold for $20 (including s&h) and I am cheap as hell. Thank you.
