From what I know, the annual cost of medical insurance vary from state to state and the extent of the injury.

It varies from local to local but in general it is well over 100,000 on average, of course that does not mean that every doctor pays that much. A family practice doctor that doesn't deliver babies or do surgery will pay less than doctors that do riskier procedures, but rest assured it is high enough thanks to the ever growing number of lawyers and the falling ability for people to accept that there are risks associated with everything.
