Unilever is a multinational company with branches is several of the world's continents and countries. Like most conglomerates, Unilever is powered by billions of dollars in profits, and it enjoys the freedom to market heavily, to expand at will, and to attack competition relentlessly. Unilever has incredible scope and leverage in its sphere of industry, and it is an industry leader with a recognizable brand name and a distinct image.

In order for Casca to use the strengths in order counteract the threats, Casca would need to use Unilever's power, money and influence to wear down enemies or banish criticism. For example, if negative press about Unilever was circulating, Casca could plan an expensive ad campaign debunking the rumors and painting Unilever in a positive light.

Best Marketing Tips For Using Corporate Strengths

• Mass media advertising can be used to strongly reinforce brand awareness. TV ads, radio ads and billboards may be used to accentuate the positives of a multinational corporation; these ads can also downplay criticism by distracting consumers and pointing them towards the positive achievements of a multinational company. For example, a company suffering criticisms about their damaging of the environment might plan a campaign that features a new "green" initiative, such as planting a tree each time someone buys a product.

• Internet marking (through social networking, such as Facebook or Twitter) can be a highly effective way to reach out to customers and reinforce a company's mission statement. There is an immediacy about social networking that allows for instant new connections.

In general, a huge company like Unilever will have plenty of support from advertising firms, lawyers, media, and staff - they will have the resources necessary to play up their strengths and silence detractors.  Multinational companies can build worldwide media campaigns through their staff in each national branch.
