I am sorry to hear of your medical and financial situation. I know it must be very disheartening to be in your situation. I regret I am unable to do something other than, provide you with what I hope will good direction.

I do not know where you live and so I cannot give the names of places or agencies to contact. I will give you some general information. First, I would suggest you talk with your doctor. Explain the situation you are in, and ask if, there is an agency he/she is aware of, which can provide you with assistance. Also, if you are a church goer talk with your pastor, minister and ask if, he/she knows of a place you can go for help.

If, you are in the income bracket "poverty level," I suggest you apply for Medicaid Medical Assistance. Go to the local Medicaid office in your town or city, and speak with one of the counsellors. Take a proof of income statement with you, and a list of any assets you own other than your home and your car. Your assets will be your checking account balance, and the most recent statement from any other assets you possess such as stocks, bonds, IRA, Retirement fund, etc. If, you have none of these assets, then simply explain your financial situation and take with you a copy of your 2005 tax report. Aslo take a copy of your most pay stub or if you are on Medicare or Medicare Disability then take your most recent statement of annual income with you. They may also, request information about your 2006 taxes.

Go to the hospital where your surgery would be performed and ask to speak with someone abut making payment arrangements for the surgery you need to have. Many times hospitals can make these type of arrangements and will sometimes lower the cost as well.

If, you have family tell them your situation and ask for any help they can offer to you. Sometimes, families can help out in these situations once we make them aware. Meanwhile, if you believe in prayer, then pray for guidance and do not stop praying, until something good happens! Good Luck!

I can suggest Medical Tourism for those that don't want to wait in lines as well as for those who don't have insurance and have to pay for their surgical procedures out of pocket.
I know of many companies that will take care of all of the details for you, all you have to do is ask them for a free quote. One that I would highly recommend is  TraveloMed, www.TraveloMed.com.
They do everything from simple dental procedures up to very serious surgical procedures such as heart bypasses. Give them a try, you have nothing to lose. The quoting process is free of charge.

I am an american citizen. Born and raised here. I need cataract surgey and have no insurance. And now i cant find anyone to help me. If i dont have the money or insurance i guess i will go blind. I am sorry about the person in mexico , but we need to take care of our own first. Our country does millions of dollars in surgeries for people that come from other countries, and wont even help their own country. So so sad
